Cwmffrwdoer Primary School was established in 1983, following the closure of Pantygasseg School, Cwmffrwdoer Infant School, and Cwmffrwdoer Junior School. Since then, we’ve proudly served the local community, providing high-quality education for children aged 3 to 11 years.

As part of the Welsh Government’s 21st Century Schools Programme, our school has recently undergone exciting developments. These include a full internal upgrade of our  to incorporate a vibrant, purpose-built Nursery, and the construction of a modern extension. This new space features:

• Four spacious classrooms

• A dedicated ICT corridor

• A well-equipped  library for our older learners

Our pupils are currently organised into nine classes, including our excellent Nursery, where children begin their learning journey in a caring and stimulating environment.

At Cwmffrwdoer, we believe that learning happens everywhere—not just in the classroom. Our school is equipped with a range of facilities designed to support both academic and personal development:

• Shared learning areas for collaborative and out-of-class activities

• Outdoor play areas for both all pupils

• Outdoor seating for social and group learning opportunities

• Extensive school grounds, including:

  • A large sports field

  • A dedicated woodland area used for Forest School sessions and topic-based learning

• Outdoor gym equipment to promote physical wellbeing

• A state-of-the-art trim trail and climbing frame to encourage active play and motor skill development​

These facilities help us create a dynamic and engaging environment where children can explore, discover, and thrive.
