Croeso I Dosbarth Pwll Du

YEAR THREE/FOUR

YEAR FOUR

AUTUMN TERM 2025

Croeso I Pwll Du

This term in Blwyddyn 3/4, we’ll be exploring the journey from mines to markets, diving into the rich history and vibrant present of Blaenavon and Abergavenny. Through this lens, we’ll uncover how our local communities have grown and changed, and celebrate the contributions of Black, Asian, and ethnic minority groups in the coal and farming industries.

We’ll be reading Planet Omar – Accidental Trouble Magnet, a fun and thought-provoking story that opens up important conversations around diversity, acceptance, and empathy.

Our creativity will shine as we use freeze frames and scene performances to explore characters’ emotions and perspectives. We’ll also improve our drawing techniques using a variety of pencils and charcoal.

We’ll stay active and build teamwork skills through football and gymnastics, developing coordination, confidence, and resilience. Daily Welsh lessons will help us grow our oracy skills, giving us the confidence to speak and share in Welsh across the curriculum.
We’ll investigate the fascinating world of light and begin working with Microbits, using technology to solve problems and spark innovation.

We’ll continue our enquiry into Christianity, asking the big question: “Could Jesus heal people?” We’ll also explore the impact of diverse communities in shaping our local industries and make meaningful links to our own lives and surroundings.

This term promises to be full of curiosity, creativity, and connection. Through hands-on learning and thoughtful exploration, our pupils will be inspired to think deeply, act kindly, and shine brightly.
