Attendance Matters
at Cwmffrwdoer Primary School
#NotInMissOut

At Cwmffrwdoer, we believe that regular and
punctual attendance is essential for every child to
make the most of their learning and school
experience. Being in school every day helps children
build strong friendships, develop good routines,
and make steady academic progress.

To support and encourage good attendance, we have introduced a half-termly 'traffic light' system to monitor and celebrate attendance across the school.
At the end of each term, we send home attendance letters to:
-
Celebrate excellent attendance
-
Recognise improvements
-
Highlight any areas of concern
Our minimum expected attendance is 95% over the academic year. Falling below this level can have a significant impact on a child’s learning and confidence.

When children miss school, they often find it difficult to catch up on missed work and may feel unsettled or left behind. That’s why we work closely with families to support good attendance habits from the very start.

Together, we can ensure that every child has the best chance to thrive—socially, emotionally, and academically.
