Positions of responsibility in Year 6
Well done to Y6 pupils who applied for positions of responsibility.
Rigorous application process which included application form, presentation and interview. All pupils in school voted for their choices. We are very proud of all children who applied.
We have now appointed Head Boy, Head Girl, Deputy Head Boy/Girl as well as Chairpersons of School Council, Eco-Committee, Equalities Group and Sports Ambassadors. The process for appointing all members of the different groups is now underway.
House captains from Y6 have also been appointed.
Prefects have been appointed in Year 6 to carry out a range of monitoring roles.
Digital Leaders and Criw Cymraeg will be selected by the end of this half term.

Wear Red for Racism Day – Friday 19th October.
Show Racism the Red Card promote a national day of action which we are taking part in by asking all pupils and staff to wear red and donate £1 to help facilitate the delivery of anti-racism education. Every penny raised during WRD enables the campaign to work with young people across the UK to challenge racism in society.
Our Harvest Festival will be held at Ebeneezer Chapel. Unfortunately we cannot invite parents/carers along due to our numbers of children. It will take place in the school day.
All donations of food will be collected by Eastern Valley Food Bank in Pontypool. We are pleased to be able to support this invaluable community service once again.
Dates of Christmas concerts are currently being organised and they will be confirmed by next week.
Appeal for volunteers and books!
We are appealing for any parents/carers/grandparents to come into school and listen to readers. If you are able to spare anytime to be a class volunteer, please either see the class teacher or let me know by email.
A recent book audit has identified that many of our school reading books haven’t been returned to school. Please have a good look at home to see if you have any school books.
We would be very grateful for donations of any good quality books suitable for 3-14 year old children.

Lost school items
Unfortunately a few parents/carers have reported lost school items which is very frustrating, especially early into the term. The items that are currently missing include jumpers and bags which are labelled. We will always do our best to locate any items reported as missing from school but on this occasion, items haven’t yet turned up. Please check if your child has brought any items home that don’t belong to them which is so easy to do.
