Parent/Carer Newsletter 13th September

We currently have a child in school who has a severe nut allergy. Exposure to nuts could have very serious, even life-threatening consequences. Consequently, we would ask that children do not bring any nut-based products into school or in their packed lunches. This includes chocolate, cakes and other products, e.g. Nutella or cereal bars, that may contain traces of nuts. We would appreciate your co-operation in ensuring our school remains safe for all children.

Meet The Teacher

On Wednesday 18th September, we are holding drop in sessions for parents/carers to informally meet your child’s new teacher. These are drop-in sessions from 3:20pm -4pm enabling you to attend one or more classes if needed.

Please note that Mrs Howells (Dosbarth Pwll Du) and Mrs Brettell (Dosbarth Aberdovey) will hold their drop-in sessions on Monday 23rd September.

Nursery Applications

The application process for places at our school nursery for 2019 is underway. Forms are available from school or Torfaen Council. If you know anyone with a child nearing nursery age, please let them know. Mrs Baker is happy to meet parents/carers of prospective pupils and show them around nursery.

Positions of responsibility in Year 6

Applications for the positions of Head Boy/Girl, Deputies, Prefects and other monitors are underway.

Candidates for Head boy/girl and Deputies have already been interviewed and voting by pupils is underway. Other roles of responsibility are being allocated.

The Year 6 pupils have shown great maturity during this process.

Parking outside school

It has been brought to my attention that parents/carers are parking on the pavement and grass verge and also in the school car park. There are parking bays specifically for parents/carers. The car park is for school staff and visitors only.
