Comic Relief – Red Nose Day

Thank you for your support today in helping us raise funds for Comic Relief. All children wore something silly to school today for a donation of £1. Biscuits decorated by pupils were sold at tuck shop for 25p and children could tell jokes in assembly for 25p.

The running total so far is over £255 and still counting! Thank you for your generosity.

Eisteddfod

We enjoyed a wonderful eisteddfod last week where children took part in individual and group activities to earn points for their houses. All houses performed so well and it was a close call with Daffodil House winning the cup for 2019.

Pontypool Inter-schools Eisteddfod is taking place next week at Pontypool Active Living Centre. Foundation Phase pupils will take part on Wednesday 20th March and KS2 pupils will compete on Thursday 21st March.

Sports

This week, pupils in Years 1 and 2 enjoyed cricket sessions delivered by Terry from Cricket Wales. Y3 will take part in the sessions next week.

The netball team played a friendly match at Garnteg Primary School today. Our netball team will be taking part in a Torfaen Netball Tournament on Wednesday 20th March. Parents are able to come and watch. We also need parents/carers to support with transporting pupils to and from Cwmbran Stadium. If you are able to help out, please let Mrs Taylor in the office know.

The football team are also at Garnteg primary School today to enjoy a friendly match.

A team of dancers from KS2 who attend Dance Club took part Torfaen’s Got to Dance competition this week. It was their first ever competition as Dance Club has only been running this term. They did so well and won third place overall. Miss Davies was so proud
